Eventi e artisti che ti aiuteranno a percepire il mondo in modo diverso, con il dono della cecità.
“Quando le persone vedenti pensano alla cecità, pensano ad una condizione tragica, limitante e invalidante nella vita, che riduce le interazioni umane nonché la possibilità di apprezzare il mondo. Ma per me, come per molte persone non vedenti o ipovedenti, la cecità non è una tragedia; è solo un modo diverso di stare al mondo e di comprenderlo”.

A partire da un’opera d’arte commissionata per questa conferenza a David Johnson, e installata presso il Windsor College (Regno Unito), dal nome Too Big to Feel (troppo grande da percepire), nella conferenza sono partite una serie di riflessioni molto interessanti su come lo stereotipo della disabilità sia talvolta più limitante per chi non è persona disabile, di quanto non lo sia la disabilità stessa, in sé.
L’opera mostra una frase in braille… gigante. Troppo grande sia per essere letta dai non vedenti che per essere visualizzata chiaramente e totalmente da chi ha la vista. Esattamente come il mondo dell’arte, troppo grande per essere visto e letto in modo univoco, con una sola modalità.
Chi ama l’arte e si dedica alla creazione artistica non può limitarsi ad un solo modo di “percepire” il mondo e spesso l’importanza che la vista ha nella lettura della realtà chiude le porte ad altre modalità sensoriali ed espressive.

Cesare Picco ha concepito nel 2009 la sua formula di Concerto al buio, in cui la sua musica si accompagna alla formula LUCE, BUIO, LUCE.
Gli spettatori entrano in sala in penombra, con la musica le luci calano fino al buio più totale per poi tornare lentamente e gradualmente alla luce iniziale.
Sandro Schneebeli invece organizza concerti in cui, citiamo dal suo sito event-im-dunkeln.ch, “gli ascoltatori vengono accompagnati da guide cieche nel locale completamente oscurato. Non possono orientarsi, non vedono gli altri partecipanti e neppure i musicisti.

Dare fiducia a che cosa? A chi ci sta intorno e ci è di supporto nell’aiuto alla percezione del mondo (perché, come ci insegnano gli ipovedenti, la relazione umana è anche questo) e, non da ultimo, ridare fiducia al nostro modo di capire e intendere anche quello che non vediamo.
